Joanne was born in 1956. She is a native of St-Lazare-de-Bellechasse, like her parents, Denise Chabot (1931) and Jean-Paul Labrecque (1930-2021). She is still a resident of the municipality.
She was married to Claude Garant (1953-2011) and they had three sons: Jean-Philippe (Karine Nolin) and François (Sara Grand’Maison) live in the Eastern Townships with their families. Simon lives and works in Montreal. 7 grandchildren have been added to the family over the years.
Profession: She worked for 5 years as a legal secretary in Quebec City, and then for over 38 years at École secondaire de Saint-Damien. She held the position of School Organization Technician when she retired in 2015.
Fall 2023: She joins the Association and is appointed to the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting held on Sunday, September 10.
