Background
Lynda Chabot was born in Hébertville-Station, in the Lac-Saint-Jean region. She is the tenth child of Léopold Chabot (son of Louis) and Madeleine Labrecque (daughter of Georges), both of whom were originally from Saint-Lazare.
She holds a DEC in Documentation Techniques from Cégep de Jonquière, followed by a certificate in archival science from Laval University. Her career with the Government of Quebec spanned 37 years, during which she worked at three organizations: the National Archives of Quebec for 10 years, the Ministry of Tourism for 21 years, and the Société d’habitation du Québec for 6 years.
For more than 30 years, Lynda has served on several boards of directors, including those of the Institut d’administration publique du Québec, Vélo Québec, and her condominium association in Quebec City’s Lower Town. She also served as spokesperson for two years during Bike Month (the month of May) for the City of Quebec.
Retired since July 2019, she is making the most of this new chapter in her life by traveling the world… often on her bicycle, which accompanies her as she explores many countries.
